Freeze a minimal reproduction
Record the environment, public destination, client version, incident time, and configured proxy behavior. Preserve a minimal synthetic reproduction without copying complete headers or production input into shared tickets. Confirm the destination against current official guides before sending authenticated requests.
Describe the symptom precisely: connection never established, certificate negotiation failed, an HTTP error arrived, or output stopped partway through. These observations require different evidence. Labeling every failure as model unavailability hides configuration problems and makes later comparisons unreliable.
Move from transport to application
Check name resolution inside the actual runtime and inspect permitted outbound connectivity. Then verify encrypted connectivity and certificate validation to the confirmed destination. Keep certificate verification enabled rather than hiding a configuration fault by disabling it. Observe configured proxy and direct paths only within approved network policy.
Once an HTTP response exists, examine the protocol path, authentication configuration, public model ID, and request parameters. Send a small paid verification only when necessary, with a strict total attempt limit. Continuous generation retries are a poor network diagnostic and may add cost without clarifying the failure.
Make the conclusion repeatable
Record pass, fail, or unknown for each layer with its observation time. Distinguish local environment faults, application validation failures, and unresolved external symptoms. Share a redacted status, time window, and safe request identifier with support rather than credentials or complete input.
After a fix, repeat the same sample in the same environment and verify completion and cancellation. Put necessary network rules in versioned configuration templates while retaining secrets in controlled storage. Public status can supplement this evidence but cannot validate your deployment environment.
